I wanted to create a game in which the winner would be not the one who better knows the rules, but the one who is more intelligent in life, and not in the game. This was a challenge for me.
Anyone can win a hand of Poker. Yet there is a lot of skill to the game. This betrays one of the popular myths in game design—that skill and luck are opposites. They are better considered as two axes.
In my designs you need to play well. If you are not a fan of playing well, then please do not play my games.
The most important skill for a game designer is listening.
