Micro-Turn

13/11/2017 | Paul Dussault

A player’s turn that is simplified to the extreme, consisting usually of a single, short action to perform.
Also, the current trend for the micro-turn appears to have spoiled us. Modern games (both in the Euro and Ameritrash styles) now lean towards shorter turns and a faster pace.Stuart Platt

Micro-turns are an effective method of keeping the players engaged, minimizing downtime and flattening the learning curve (let alone the rulebook). Some game mechanisms are well suited for micro-turns, like Mac Gerdts’ rondel system.
