Opener

09/11/2017 | Paul Dussault

A filler game that is well suited for playing at the beginning of a gaming session, for example to warm up before playing the main game or while waiting for all players to arrive.
Foppen, one of Friedemann’s card games, is a minor masterpiece that gets a lot of plays as an opener or closer at our game night sessions.Herb Levy

The opener is a kind of filler, often a Beer and Pretzels game. Can also be a good closer. It shouldn’t be confused with a starter game.
