Pimp-box

10/09/2018 | Paul Dussault

A game box that has been modified, often by the addition of various compartments, in order to allow for a better storage of the components of the game or its expansions.
Talking about stickers, any chance they’ll be included in the pimp-box?Simon Lundström

Pimp-boxes and their custom inserts are mostly homemade. The sheer quantity and ingenuity of storage solutions and box pimping found, for all kinds of games, on sites such as Boardgamegeek, show that for many gamers, pimp-boxes are definitely part of the game.

When they include more sophisticated, professionally produced organizers, the boxes of special or deluxe editions of games are also called pimp-boxes. Companies such as The Broken Token specialize in making quality inserts sold separately.

Storage solutions that don’t use the original game box are rather called reboxing.
